Some entrepreneurs measure success by more than just money. Success for those individuals means reaching goals, realizing dreams, and working for a greater good. One such entrepreneur is Hussain Sajwani of Dubai. Sajwani’s disciplined focus on the real estate and catering industries has made his a globally-recognized name.
Hussain Sajwani began his journey with a small catering company in Dubai. His dedication and ingenuity built a company that earned the recognition of international clientele, including the United States military. That venture grew into what is now Global Logistics Services, which provides meals and temporary lodging to U.S. armed forces in the Middle East.
Having won a scholarship and earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics, Hussain Sajwani recognized an opportunity in obtaining property in undeveloped neighborhoods. Once Dubai’s lawmakers allowed foreigners to own property there, expatriates from several regions began to gather in these neighborhoods. Using money he earned from selling real estate, Sajwani developed DAMAC Properties. Not only does the DAMAC owner buy property but also Sajwani started a construction company to develop and sell it. The development company’s first project, the Marina Terrace, sold out in just more than one month.
His luxury-brand style of marketing has set Sajwani apart from his peers and his DAMAC Properties development company is among the most sought-after in the Middle East. His high-end commercial and residential skyscrapers tower above the Dubai horizon attracting local and international investors to the region.
The DAMAC owner has broadened his scope into equity market investing, handling general construction materials, and manufacturing ceramic tiles. Additionally, Sajwani has his securities market-listed Al Jazeira Services investment company with approximately $110 million in capitalization.
Finally, Hussain Sajwani’s success would not be complete without generous charitable contributions. The DAMAC owner established the DAMAC Foundation which sponsors the One Million Arab Coders Initiative. This free program allows young Arab students to study coding and software development skills. Sajwani is also a substantial donor to Yemen We Care, a program channeling fundamental healthcare and education services to more than 10 million victims of Yemeni war.
