WEN by Chaz Dean, Putting it to the Test

Emily McClure of Bustle.com recently did a 7-day trial test of what many of us have heard of or seen in infomercials. Emily decided to use the WEN Cleansing Conditioner on her thin, fine hair and then documented its effect over a week long period. Her results were fairly informative.
Day one’s experiment began after she got home with a head full of frizzy travel-hair. You know the kind, when you’ve spent all day out and about in the sun running errands, or all afternoon in a car or on a plane. Whatever your day looks like, by the end of it your beautiful style has morphed into something a little more unruly. She applied a generous amount of Sephora endorsed Cleansing Conditioner in the shower and let it sit the recommended time, and then rinsed and blow-dried to see the end result: a shiny bouncy head of long locks.

She repeated this process over the next week, with fairly consistent results. It became apparent that the way to have amazing results using WEN Cleansing Conditioner was to incorporate it into a morning routine. This meant you’d have great hair throughout the day, but also that your great look would fade overnight through sleep. She concluded that WEN is a great product line to use if you are the type that consistently washes and styles your hair, and it will also improve the overall health of your hair over time.

Conflicted Review of Wen

Everyone wants beautiful, thick, flowing hair, but this is not something that is the reality for most women, especially women that have to deal with thin hair. Emily Mcclure was one of these women that has a bit thinner hair than most, so she sought some resolution to her issue, by trying out WEN hair for a period of a week, which was originally documented and released by Bustle. Deciding that it would be beneficial to others to document it, she took pictures and detailed what happened, as well as her thoughts on the process.

Her thoughts started out conflicted and ended up the same way at the end of her journey. The first several days, she noticed that when she woke up the morning after using Sephora.com marketed Wen Hair that her hair would be oily near her roots. While her hair felt oily, it also felt great to her during the day, but it would only feel this way if she remembered to get up early and take a shower. If she took a shower later in the day, her hair would feel oily and weighed down, and she even had one day that she described as a bona fide “bad hair day“.

The ultimate conclusion to her test of Wen hair conditioner was that it was beneficial if you are on a schedule that allows you to get up every single day and use the product early in the morning. However, she describes herself as a person that is more on the lazy side, so that it likely is not going to be a main stay for her, although she did say she would use it occasionally. She did say that WEN Hair had its benefits and that people liked the way her hair looked while using it, so it might be a great product for some people.
