Larkin & Lacey’s Fight for Human Rights

Every individual in the human family has rights and freedoms. Sometimes these rights are treated with contempt from other humans for selfish gains and interests. However, groups have been formed to fight for these rights in an attempt to help individuals who have been denied these rights.

Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund

James Larkin and Michael Lacey are two reporters that were arrested from the comfort of their homes and were jailed for covering a story about the sheriff.

They leaked information that the sheriff had a grand jury proceeding to have reporters give up their story about him. Previously, they had successfully defended the First Amendments right.

Larkin and Lacey sued the sheriff and fortunately won the case. They raised $3.75 million as settlement out of the arrest. They dedicated this money to fund migrants’ rights groups throughout Arizona.
